The beautiful Flour Mill Studio all set up for our food styling workshop - the calm before the storm!
Fast forward a few hours! Amazing creativity in full swing with our stylists exploring new ways to shoot their food and taking full advantage of our background and props library.
The props corner and a few of the backgrounds which spread all along the length of the studio. We were lucky enough to find prunus (plum blossom) and cherry blossom for this spring shoot, it was lovely to see how differently each stylist used it. Other props included live moss, lots of soft linen, pewter plates and silver trays, lots of glassware for smoothies etc, and beautiful vintage and modern cutlery.
An iphone pic of the beautiful chocolate orange hot cross buns made and styled on a deep copper background by Nicky over on www.kitchensanctuary.com. Can't wait to see her final edit and the recipe for these!
Behind the scenes on Rachel's beautiful Japanese styled shot of spinach and tuna shavings, this was truly remarkable in its effortless style (which actually can take longer so maybe not effortless to create!), can't wait to see more on @travelswithmyfork.
Also with the super talented and very lovely Sian Hallam-Davies and Nick Dunmur from the host venue, The Flour Mill Studio, helping Kirsty @kirstys.kitchen
Matilda who flew all the way from Stockholm, Sweden to join us for the food styling workshop! Such a great, vibrant graphic style she has, check out her instagram feed @matildahammar
Some quick grabs from Instagram -
Rachel's use of the plum blossom was epic.
A corner of me helping on Kirsty's cheese shot and the very talented food writer and content creator Laura Hutton in grey. She took some stunning shots for her social media clients.

Beautiful leftovers taken by Sian!
Me playing a background and somebody else being inappropriate with blossom.
A BTS from Matilda on a blue/teal Sophocles food styling background board :)
And some vids! If you think this looks like fun please check out our other food styling and photography workshops and events coming up - as you can (hopefully) see us foodies are a friendly bunch, some of my favourite comments from yesterday were the ones about how lovely everyone was. Don't be nervous if this is new for you!
