I can't remember if Sian (owner of the Flour Mill Studio) found us or we found her but I'm SO glad it happened because this place is BEAUTIFUL! We held our first Nottingham food styling workshop there yesterday and everyone who attended was so impressed with the studio.
Sian has done a brilliant job refurbishing it and creating the perfect blank canvas (quite literally) and thanks to it's first floor setting and end-to-end windows down each side the light is just stunning.
There's an obvious work area if you need to set gadgets up, all in keeping with the industrial, modern-eclectic vibe and there is even a sound system and projector for screening films or digital media.
Speaking as a food and interiors stylist, this is a great place to work, but I can also imagine it set up for an art event or product launch - the industrial light fittings, painted white brick walls, uninterrupted space - it all lends itself to being used to showcase something exciting. The hire price is VERY reasonable both a working photographic studio and an event hire.
If you're looking for a photographic studio to shoot in or space for an event I highly recommend this place. Oh and i forgot about the outside rooftop area! It being March we haven't taken advantage of it yet but in the warmer months (here's hoping) it would give even more space to shoot outside, mingle with drinks or set up food.
If I'm selling it hard it's because I'm excited, not getting paid! For more details visit www.flourmill.studio or contact Sian Hallam-Davies at hello@flourmill.studio. Should say too it's within 20 minutes of the M1, junction 24, Nottingham NG9 2LG.
