2018 has been a busy year for me, not just with Woodrow studios but also in my 'other' job working as a food creative. I know a few of our customers have also worked with me over the past year, but I wanted to introduce myself to those who might not be aware of what else I get up to!
Now I say 'food creative' rather than 'stylist' because my work is just so varied. I'm fortunate to be called on by amazing clients across the creative industry rainbow, from stills photography to TV advertising, from recipe writing for national brands to consulting and research for global TV production companies. Based in Leicestershire I'm ideally situated to work all over the UK. I'd love to make more connections in 2019 so if you have a project, and food is involved, then I'd love you to get in touch!.
Film/TV work
A large part of 2018 has been spent working on upcoming Netflix/Amazon productions, which annoyingly I can't yet show! I've loved some of the briefs on these which have included creating a carefully researched 1920's period banquet and canapé reception and an intricate Thai buffet complete with carved fruit and vegetable displays. I've worked on TV ads for Benson's beds and Aldi, created 'how to' recipe videos for Napolina and Asda, and also this Kick Starter video below with the talented folks at @thefilmkitchen

Stills Photography
I've had a typically eclectic series of briefs across the past 12 months, whilst my style has always tended to be more 'natural' I'm occasionally required to delve into the old school stylist's box of tricks, using 'ultratex' to create the perfect splash photography for a drinks advert and developing my 'fake' ice cream recipes for the perfect 'barking' (the ridge definition on the exterior of the scoop)- look out for Helga the hedgehog coming to a range of ice cream wafers next year! I've been helping Sophie styling for catalogue and SM images for Royal Doulton/Wedgwood amongst lots of other fun Jobs. I think my most demanding job of 2018 was creating this image for Belvoir Fruit Farms with Together Agency a couple of months ago- 30+ recipes were involved and all shot on one day at Space Studios in Nottingham, really pleased with how this insta-spread turned out!
Take a look at my portfolio for loads more recent images, and videos.
Content Creation/Recipe Writing
I love a recipe brief. The image below was from way back around the time of the 2016 Olympics in Rio. This is my version of the classic Brazilian 'Moqueca' which I also styled for Booths Supermarkets at Blink Studios in Chorley, (One of Woodrow Studio's first backgrounds was made for this shoot to give a Favela feel to the image)
In 2018 I developed and styled recipes for, amongst others, Royal Doulton, Foxes Biscuits and Samworth Brothers. All my recipes are fully tried and tested and draw from my 20 plus years as a professional chef combined with a careful consideration of emerging food trends as well as dietary and industry regulatory requirements.
I can provide tested recipe content on its own or with images, contact me if you'd like a quote.

ps- Here's a funky little video put together by the folks at Together Agency in Nottingham showing 'behind the scenes' on a shoot with photographer Andy Pendlebury earlier this year.
